Abstract:
At the age of 7, a young girl is confronted with the news that she is to be placed in care, a reality she struggles to understand. The constant stream of social workers forces her to repeat her story over and over, reinforcing her feeling of being reduced to a mere file. As she approaches adulthood, she leaves the child welfare system as suddenly as she entered it, driven by a desire for emancipation and a search for identity, despite a lingering feeling of abandonment.
