The global population is aging, making senior tourists (aged 60+) a significant market segment.
Senior tourists have unique preferences influenced by motivation, needs, accessibility, companions, and experiences.
Existing research extensively covers senior tourist preferences but lacks focus on accommodation choices.

Purpose of the Study:

To map research trends on senior tourists' accommodation preferences.
To identify gaps and provide scope for future research in this area.

Main Methods:

Adoption of Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) guidelines and the Arksey and O'Malley framework.
Utilized Population, Concept, Context (PCC) and Theory, Context, Characteristics, and Methodology (TCCM) frameworks.
Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases searched for English-language studies from inception to 2025.
Independent screening by two reviewers, with data presented graphically and descriptively.

Main Results:

This review maps the current literature on senior tourists' accommodation preferences.
Identifies trends and gaps in research regarding senior tourist accommodation.

Conclusions:

This scoping review provides a comprehensive overview of existing research.
Offers crucial insights for future research directions in senior tourism accommodation.
