Abstract:
The electrochemical performance of a Zn anode in aqueous batteries is limited by parasitic side reactions and dendrite growth. Herein, the addition of only 0.1% of N,N-dimethylbutanamide is shown to provide dynamic protection on the surface of a Zn electrode, thereby efficiently shielding it from water-induced side reactions and guiding uniform Zn deposition.
