Currently, there is a growing policy and strategic emphasis on developing nursing informatics capabilities among nurses and students. Although nursing managers and educators have always emphasized the role of informatics in nursing, the cultivation of nursing informatics professionals, compared with other countries, China is still in the exploratory stage. Guided by Bloom's revised taxonomy and competencies from the American and Canadian nursing associations, faculty from nursing, ergonomics, hospital management, and education jointly developed a one-credit elective course using a hybrid model. Online content included 6 chapters with 15 videos (258 min total), while offline sessions featured 4 discussions and 2 presentations (literature sharing and case-based design). Twelve graduate students completed the course. All achieved full scores on online tasks, with strong performance in offline assessments (25.4/30 in literature sharing; 54.6/60 in case design). Student feedback highlighted enhanced knowledge of nursing informatics, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary perspectives. These experiences support the feasibility of implementing hybrid, interdisciplinary nursing informatics curricula and provide practical insights for the development of practice-oriented graduate education in China.
