Spinal cord hemangioblastomas are benign, vascular lesions that occur sporadically (67%) or in association with von Hippel-Lindau disease (VHL; 33%). Whether they occur sporadically or in association with VHL, hemangioblastomas are histologically identical. The treatment of choice for hemangioblastomas is complete surgical resection. The authors review the molecular, genomic, clinical, and anatomic features of these tumors, as well as their management.
