Abstract:
Noninvasive esthetic treatments are now ubiquitous, with huge variability in provider experience and quality. Patients presenting for facial rejuvenation are now rarely treatment-naïve. This paper examines the impact of prior dermal fillers, boistimulators, chemolipolysis agents and energy-based devices on facial rejuvenation surgery. We present a guide for managing previously treated patients, including strategies for preoperative evaluation and management of patient expectations, as well as intraoperative decision-making advice and adjunctive use of intraoperative nerve monitoring, to improve safety and obtain adequate results in these patients.
