Abstract:
This case report describes a highly complicated case with combined chronic pain, substance use disorder (SUD) and social challenges following war participation in Ukraine. The patient had developed PTSD and SUD because of pain management and was enrolled in dual diagnosis treatment in out-patient psychiatry. The patient successfully transitioned to long-acting buprenorphine leading to better pain management and remission in SUD, improving both treatment relation and clinical treatment of PTSD by use of integrated dual diagnosis treatment.
