    Background:

    • The arrangement of ribosomal DNA (rDNA) cistrons is crucial for understanding gene expression and genome organization.
    • Previous studies have described various rDNA configurations in different organisms, but unusual arrangements warrant further investigation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the unique arrangement of rDNA cistrons in spread nucleolar material from A. exigua.
    • To propose a model for the repeating unit of rDNA organization based on observed configurations.
