Abstract:
This paper reports on a case of complex dorsal dislocations of both the right index and middle metacarpophalangeal joints. A 32-year-old man involved in a motor vehicle accident presented with both the index and middle metacarpal heads protruding through a transverse laceration in his right palm. After irrigation with normal saline, each joint was easily reduced by gentle manipulation only. A literature review of similar cases is presented.
