Cultural circles--application of family systems theory in staff development

Staff development programs geared toward affective learning goals, such as those related to stimulating cultural sensitivity, require innovative teaching methods. Based on Bowen's family system theory, the author promotes a deeper understanding of the effects of culture on feelings and behavior and presents a cultural circle model of staff development focused on cultural sensitivity.
