The nurse internship experience: a dynamic learning environment for the novice

This article highlights the history of nurse internship programs and reviews the application process, the content, and the design of a nurse internship program. The program described has proven to be a developmental process for the nurse intern, the preceptor, and the staff development specialist. Recommendations are presented for implementation of a successful nurse internship program.
