An aggressive multimodality treatment regimen, including external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), chemotherapy, surgery, and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT), offers excellent local control for unresectable colon and rectal cancer. However, distant metastases and high morbidity remain significant challenges.
