Abstract:
Should patients undergo surgical intervention as soon as they receive a diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia (TN), or should they wait until pharmacologic treatment fails? This article describes some of the challenges encountered in surgical trials for TN, and provides some guidance for future trials in this area.
