[Changes of human immune status as a possible factor of oncologic risk]
Abstract:
The immune status of 393 practically healthy people of the city of Vilnius with the allowance for age, sex, harmful industrial and environmental factors was investigated. Out of six types of immune reactions, three suppressive ones were observed: the threshold stimulated, stimulated with deficit and suppressive one. They may be considered as endogenous oncological risk factors as well as risk factors for other diseases. An assumption is made that a decrease of the leukocyte number, population level of normal antibodies, IgG, and IgM in examined people may be due to deterioration of general ecological conditions of the city.
