Abstract:
The renewal of the workforce in primary care medicine is a matter of concern in both the political and academic areas. In context of the population's ageing, rise of comorbidity and of complexification of medicine, the demography and the inequal spatial distribution of the workforce may preterit access to primary care services and their quality in the near future. This article reviews the evolution of workforce in the last decade and sheds light on strategies to promote its renewal.
