Background:

Tooth loss due to generalized periodontitis and caries complications necessitates dental restoration.
Dental implantation is a key method for restoring dentition integrity, functional, and aesthetic aspects.
Understanding age-specific complications in dental implantation is vital for improving outcomes.

Purpose of the Study:

To enhance dental implantation results by identifying causes of complications.
To develop preventative strategies for dental implantation complications across different age groups.
To analyze the impact of generalized periodontitis on post-implantation outcomes.

Main Methods:

Observation of 65 patients (35-60 years) with secondary adentia.
Comparison between a main group (45 patients with periodontitis-related adentia) and a control group (20 patients with caries-related adentia).
Comprehensive periodontal and peri-implant examinations, alongside microbiological studies of oral microflora dynamics.

Main Results:

A high complication rate (53.33%) observed in the main group, primarily linked to generalized periodontitis.
Frequent complications included poor wound healing (15.56%), wound infection (17.78%), pain, altered sensitivity, and mandible perforation (2.22%).
Early stages of dental implantation revealed significant, aggressive changes in the microflora of the implant site in the main group.

Conclusions:

Generalized periodontitis is a major contributing factor to post-dental implantation complications.
Qualitative and quantitative microflora shifts in the peri-implant area indicate increased risk.
Targeted preventative measures addressing periodontitis and microflora management are essential for successful dental implantation.
