[Needle Lost during Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy : A Case Report].

A lost surgical needle was found stuck in an AirSeal® port after robot-assisted prostatectomy. Optimized X-ray imaging can aid in retrieving such lost surgical instruments.

- Standard radiography without contrast optimization may not be sufficient for locating retained needles within such devices.
- The design of the AirSeal® port may present a risk for retaining small surgical items.

- The use of X-ray radiography with optimized gradation settings is recommended for improved detection of retained needles.
- Further investigation into device modifications or improved retrieval techniques may be warranted to prevent needle retention.
