Despite the best efforts of surgeons during primary cleft repair, the outcomes may not always meet expectations, often leaving patients with residual stigmata similar to those present preoperatively. Secondary cleft lip deformities (SCLD) are common, diverse, and patient-specific due to their multifactorial etiology and variance in appearance. This article provides an insight into the SCLD classification system, surgical techniques, planning and best approaches to achieve the most desired cleft lip revision outcomes.
