[A method of automated recording of NBT test]

A method for automatic registration of NBT test in human blood leukocytes is proposed. It can be used both in experimental and clinical studies. The principle of the method consists in formazan extraction from neutrophils free from red cells or leukocyte suspension by 2 M KOH and dimethylsulfoxide. Parallel studies carried out by the proposed method and the routine histochemical method of whole blood smears showed a good correlation of the results (r = 0.832). A technique of measuring O2- anion production, based on the proposed method, is suggested.
